In a time a long, long time ago, there was this tiny creature. As this creature grew, there appeared brown spots on its blue body. It grew and grew, and developed many spots. Soon it was huge, growing green and big. There were mountains on this creature that rose up high, and canyons that would dip into the innerworld. Soon other creatures became appearing, flora and fauna alike. They grew and grew and the creature soon began to be known as Koreena. On this world is where our story begins...
She was running fast, breathing hard, her muscles throbbing. There were tears in her eyes, and blood in her hair. She stopped to rest for a few minutes against a tree, and closed her eyes. Falling unconscious, petals falling lightly on her silky white body, tangling themselves in her black mane, she slept peacefully.

He was padding along the lush green forest just looking around at all there was to see. He had never been in this part before and was curious to what it held within its grasp. He saw a pond of water and decided to lap up some of the moisture so that he would not have to stop later in the open to drink. He slowly lapped up some water and then laid down in the shade to rest.

Reth stalked out of his cave-like nest, his eyes searching for anything and everything. It was safe to come forth. The great Red-tailed Falcon spread his great wings and beat the air below him. As he rose into the air, Reth silently basked in the joy of flight and his uncanny flying abilities. Soon he reached his desired height and he leveled off with a mighty cry. The falcon circled in flight searching, searching for food....

She was walking down a hallway in a place she knew all too well. There was this feeling inside her of uncertainty, of fear. The walls loomed up beside her as she remembered walking down this hallway for the first time, with her mother many years ago. She got to His room, and stopped to knock at the door. She hesitated when she heard voices, and fear gripped her as she realized what was going to happen...
She woke up sweating, frantically looking around her in search of something that was not there. There was a river nearby, so she stopped to take a drink. Looking around, she suddenly felt a burning in her side. She screamed out in pain as the mark on the top of her left back leg burned. She soon stimmied her scream so as no creature would come and hunt her down. She moved into the trees just in case any creature came and looked for something to eat. It was strange being out in the open after so many long years, but she still knew which grass was the best. Her stomach reminded her just how hungry she was, as her Master had nearly starved her. She bent down her head, and started grazing...

She was lonely from running all the time and never seeing any of her kind on this world. She stopped at one of her favorite places to look down and see if she coud see any of her kind. She stopped on a shelf of rock and loked down into the meadows which bordered on a forest. Her horn was raized high into the air and the sun glinted off of it as a symbole of freedome and of grand stature. She was born from one of the royal herds but now she did not even know where one of her kind was. She steped back off of the shelf and saw a patch of clover. She bent her slender neck down towards the lush patch and grazed, thinking about her old life.

A small mouse was chewing on a seed by a large dark den. It froze when a long, black, forked tongue slithered by it's tiny form. The tongue was followed out of the cave by a large head complete with a large frill. One of the creature's large legs crunched into the ground just centimeters from the mouse. The gigantic lizard just wandered by, not noticing the pitiful morsel by it's foot. Frilmonty had not been out for a long time, thanks to the long, uninterrupted snooze he had. The frilled monitor crept to the edge of the mighty river, and slowly slid into the flowing water. One moment he was visible on the river bank, the next he was invisible as he swam in search of fish....

The wolf got sat up and decided to do some hunting. This wolf's name was Satto and he was young but full of ambition. That is why he left his pack and decided to travel on his own. He lifted his muzzle to the sky and smelt a rabbit not far off. Satto stayed donwwind of his intended prey and when he was close enough to spring he did so, but at the same time his fur brushed against a branch sticking out and the rabbit turned its head and dashed off. He cursed himself and sped off after it, but by that time it was hidden in a hole and he knew he had no chance of getting to it and so he slunk off to find somthing else to eat.

Reth circled further and futher south, his eyes scanning any possible locations. His eyes snapped back to one particular location. A wolf could be seen chasing a rabbit. The falcon knew better then to mess with a wolf so he comntinued south. Ah, that's better, Thought Reth as he noticed a small mouse and her two children wandering across a small meadow. Silently, the falcon plummeted down towards his prey before snatching the mouse in his beak and one of the children per talon. Reth settled down before beginning his bloody feast. A small twinge of pain in his talon joints was all he needed to remember that he was much older then most falcons and needed to watch out for any thing that approached.....

She was running again now, as her side burned in pain. Something had heard her yelp, and she didn't want to know what it was. After a while, she slowed down, panting extensively. Looking around, she saw nothing. She perked her ears forward, trying to hear something... anything, but she was safe. Sighing with relief, she slowed her breathing. Her ear twitched backwards, sensing something up ahead. That's when she smelt Him. She started to run, hearing Him land where she had just been. Her feet sailing above the ground, she realized that He had trained her well. She heard Him laugh behind her, and knew that He was already catching up. She exited the forest, and nearly ran into a large bird. She swrived to miss the bird and tripped. She lay on the ground awkwardly, little stars flashing in her eyes. She heard his breath, but He never showed his face. She looked for Him, but He was gone. He had left so He would not be seen, she was sure. She got up slowly, but fell back down as her leg gave out beneath her. Sighing, she looked at the large bird standing there, staring at her strangely. She attempted to get up again, and yelped at the pain. She sunk back into the grass, her chest heaving. She would just have to stay here for now, and hope the large bird wouldn't attack her...

The unicorn looked up when she heard a noice. Her name was Gammaya, and she was one of the last unicorn that she knew of. She decided to go and investigate. Carefully she manovered herself through the trees and to the edge of the forest. She noticed another kind of creature like herself but no horn and a reptilian type of tail. She looks kind of like a horse except for that strange tail she has. She stayed int he shadowns of the trees and kept her horn down so that it woudl not giver her away. She watched as the creature tried to get up, but could not.

A wee little fish swam away from it's mom. (enter Jaws theme) It kept swimming and sticking out its tongue. Momma fish screamed for him to turn around when suddenly.... SNAP!!! The frilled monitor gulped down the pitiful morsel and looked around. The fish had fled the area. Frilmonty grumbled as he came up to the surface for air. He swam back to the main land hoping to find better food there.

Reth hopped forward towards the strange intruder, looking for what had so badly scared her. His sharp eyes could not see anything in the woods though. He hopped a bit closer. Rest easy young one. No one's here to hurt you." The falcon examined her lean form with his sharp eyes. "Well, you look like you've been through some rough times. My apologies, madam. I have not properly introduced myself." He bowed down low, wings outspread. "My name is Reth Black-Crest, an aging falcon. And who, may I ask, are you? And why are you running like someone's chasing you?" Reth hopped even closer and put his beak against the mark on her leg. His face was contorted into horror as he asked, "And how did this come to happen?" The falcon hopped back a couple paces, waiting and wondering.....

She looked at the falcon with sad eyes. She closed her eyes, hoping for the best that he was trustworthy. "Well, Reth, the name I was given is Astella. I was chased by... someone who would do me harm." Astella tried to get up again, and managed to get up on three legs, holding her bleeding front leg up. She looked at the falcon again. "Unfortunately I am lost and have nowhere to go. Would you by chance happen to know of somewhere that I could stay until my leg heals??" Astella waited for a few moments to hear the falcon's answer...

Satto smelt blood and went to go and investigte. He slunk through the underbrush to see a horse standing in pain, the front hoofe lifted up and dripping with blood. His mouth slavered but her had not eaten in quite some time. He took another deep breath in to savor the taste and saw that there was also a bird there. He did not care for this bird was smaller than him and would make a nice desert if he missed with Satto. He slunk as close as he could and then lunged at the bird first and then one the bird was out of his way he jumped at the horse. But he missed and dodged the hooves from the horse and ran back into the try and take a snap at this weaker animal.

Frilmonty crept silently through the mud, confident that his orange frill was effectively disguised. A pair of wild boar were tussling with their long tusks, the reason standing sweetly off the side, a female. One pig squealled loudly as his left flank was cut open by a tusk. The Frilled Monitor burst forth of his muddy hidding place, seizing the injured boar by the leg. The other two pigs fled, squealling away, but Frilmonty ignored them as he dragged his dinner back to the cave along the river. He settled in for a long meal......

"I know a place, long journey to make. I..." Reth broke off as a wolf burst into the clearing. The falcon lifted off the ground easily enough, but when the wolf went for Astella, he had seen enough. With a piercing cry, he dove at the wolf before wheeling around anf lightly alighting on Astella's back. Wings still spread wide, Reth eyed the wolf with a furious glint. "You wolves are all the same! No honor, always going for the weak or the sick. I'll tell you one thing buster. No wolf has ever messed with Reth Black-Crest twice..... Leave this poor youngin' alone. Or else..." One of Reth's talons stung with sharp pain and the old falcon tumbled to the ground with a surprized squawk. He silently cursed his rheumatiz when he realized he just put himself at everyone else's mercy.

Gammaya decided to levave for she fel;t out of place with these normal beings. She wanted company but would find it on her own and hopefully with someone of her own kind. She turner around and ran thoguh the forest, dauging trees and branches. Her mane was flowing across her back and the wind was blowing her ears back. She was free and loving it, except for the fact that knew no one anymore and was alone.

Satto stopped short of the horse and bird. "Ww wolves have much honor!" He was stopped but still stood and snarled and his whoel body was bristeling fromt he chalange of a bird who could not even stay on the back of a horse. "We go after the sick and injured for it is easier for us, but also to keep the populations healthy. If we went after only the strong there woudl only be weak ones left and then more would die! You critezsize me, but look at you who can't even stay on a horses back! Watch yourself or you might find yourself..." He runshed in and bent his head over the bird ont he ground, "... in my jaws and there will be no mercy next time." He ten ran back a few steps and backed off not worried about the bird of the horse. That bird just spoiled my meal. He will pay for that, but for now I will let them live and live in fear that I will be watching their backs for any faults. He stood back a bit and waited for the bird or horse to reply. His eyes had a hard look to them but also one of michiviousness in them

She watched Reth fall to the ground, and stood over him, protecting him. Everything had happened so fast, she closed her eyes. Gathering her powers, the mark on her leg started to glow. She opened her eyes, glowing white now, and blasted the wolf into another dimension. He would eventually find himself some many miles away, angry as hell. Astella closed her eyes as the mark on her leg stopped glowing, and she opened her eyes again. She nudged Reth with her muzzle. They had to get out of there. Now. She wrapped her serpentine tail around the falcon and held him on her shoulders, keeping her tail wrapped around him. She ran into the woods, away from where she had sent the wolf. She got to a riverbend, and lay the falcon down. At this point she remembered her hurt leg, and collapsed under it. She shook the little stars away and looked to the falcon. "Are you allright?"

"I've been better....." Reth stood up and waddled towards the river. "You may not have realized it, but I am a old falcon.... Older then any other alive.... I have rheumatiz and I can barely walk or hold onto things anymore......" The falcon sighed and looked back at Astella. "Thank you for standing up for me. I appreciate it. I shall take you too a good resting spot, far from here... That is...." He looked pointedly at Astella's wounded leg. "If you are ok with the many day journey ahead?"
