Satto was tired and was despritally lookin for somehwre to sleep for the night. He saw a dark hole into the ground and decided to go and see if it was free. He did not think about sniffing first to see if anyone was home or if it was home to someone else at the moment but just walked in. He was surprized to find out that it weas occupied by somthing that was not really friendly.

She was finally coming back to Him. He could finally have all of His powers again, and He was happy. The feeling of happiness.... He hadn't felt that in quite some time. It had been so many years since He had last felt happy. The feeling had terrified Him then, when His master had drilled into him the unhealthy nature of feelings like happiness, and achievement. That was before he killed His master, after all. But He wouldn't make that mistake, for surely not. There was something He had never told His master, though, of a different, deeper feeling. This feeling He would never, ever forget...

"What the heck are you doing in my lair!?!" Frilmonty snarled at the wolf that had intruded, his frill outspread, making him seem much bigger then he was. "Get out and find your own den before I eat you, little wolfie. Git going!" As he finished, the frilled monitor sprinted forward driving the foolish wolf out into open ground......

Reth stared at the unicorn with a bit of confusion. " Mist? I have not seen any mist. By the way, My name's Reth Black-Crest but you can call me Reth. I must go now. I've led a young injured lass into danger and I must get her to someplace where she can heal." Spreading his wings wide, Reth took flight and soared high into the air. Once he located the canyon, he circled down towards it, searching. He noticed a great mist at the bottom, but it seemed most prominent around one side of the canyon. The falcon flew past that canyon wall several times before he noticed a tunnel leading away from the canyon. Reth took one deep breath, flexed his talons and shot down the tunnel, more then a little perturbed about the idea of mist-surrounded monster. He gave one bold, noble cry, hoping Astella would hear and hold onto a small scrap of hope........

Gammaya was a little annoyed that this creature was not even really going to hear the idea of a Mist. She snorted and then got the rest of the way up the cave wall. She finally got back onto solid safe ground againa nd she was relieved to see that the hunters had dissapeared for the time being. She knew that these creatured were ruthless intheir hunt and she woudl ahe to now be carefull on how she was hidden at all times, but here was not much more she could do. She gallpoed away glad to strech her muscles again.

Satto's was not very ahppy to see that it was accupied already. His fur bristled and he snarled as he backed out of the cave. He knew that he was out powered but also knew that he was more cunning than this creature was. He backed out of the cave and back into the night air. He shivered momentarily but then composex himself againa nd he looked 2 times his size. He was ready for a fight if the creature wanted one, but he woudl rather talk it over instead of fight, but knew that these creatured were aggressive and did little or no talking at all. He backed up a few more paces and then stood his ground. he howled to the stars for his pack to give himt he strength that he needed.

She heard the cry in her dreams, long from where she was. She didn't know what to do. She couldn't leave, and she couldn't call out for help either. But then again, it was Khaos she was talking about, so it would0n't be a problem. She sung out in her dream to the falcon, to tell him that she would be at the edge of the land the next night. She told him to be there at night, and hoped he had heard. She had seen miracles happen before, the most recent having been very dangerous and had almost got her killed. The Sun was coming up as Khaos woke. Suddenly there was a noise in the bushes, and Khaos was alert instantly. He swung out with his huge tail, and dragged forward a unicorn. "You mine. You come with to Master's place. Don't escape, or me eat you." Astella laughed inwardly at Khaos' attempt to appear dumb. He was very sharp, but only about some things. Astella went to help the unicorn. "Have we met before? I think I recall seeing you somewhere. Either way, my name is Astella." She started to walk behind Khaos, and leaned in to whisper into the unicorn's ear. "Don't worry about Khaos there, he's holding me captive too. Don't try to escape for now, I have a plan and a friend who is coming to help." She coughed and talked normally so that Khaos wouldn't suspect anything, "So what is your name? I haven't seen a unicorn in a long time."

The sound of Astella's voice, but no sign of her disturbed Reth more then a little. She mentioned something about edge of land and night..... The falcon was confused but decided to follow the possible hint. He landed, spun around quickly and flew back out of the tunnels. As soon as he cleared the canyon completely he reorientated himself to find the closest shore line. As Reth soared away, he noticed something in the forest, but unwilling to abandon his only chance, the old bird flew higher and faster. Within three hours he had made it, but he was worn out. The Red-tailed Falcon silently found a thermal and began to circle a mile-wide stretch of beach. Hopefully he was perfecty in position......

Frilmonty snarled at the howling wolf. "Fool! The stars can not help you and nor are you wise in challenging me! Stop howling like some puppy with his tail bit by a wee flea. This is your last chance, leave now and never come back." Frilmonty flexed his hardened muscles and prepared to fight. If that wolf sprung forward, it would get clobbered, and clobbered good.......

Satto replied to this creature, "I am not chalenging you. I was looking for somewhere to stay the night. I was foolish for not sniffig first and I have learnt that the hard way now." Satto backed up a bit more and hoped that this creatre would not attack. He did not want to attack, but would defend himself if needed. He stopped snareling and tried to be a bit less threatening, but he could not let down his total guard.

Gammaya was runningand then she heard a rustling. But she could hardely register the noise and she was swept up by some sort of creature. She looked over at this creature and reconized the horse that was with the bird. She then knew that this was going to be harder than it looked. gammaya pawed the ground in frusterationa t being caught but replied to this Astella, 'Well i am not sure if you saw me or now, but I have seen you before. My name is Gammaya, and I have also seen you before while in forest clearing." She hoped that she woudl get the hint that it was the bird and not this creature that held them captive. "The reason that you ahve not seen a unicorn in a long time is that there are very few if any left. We are being hunted and I am the only one from what I ahve seen lately." Gammaya then was silent and wondered who this friend she had contacted could be, and also how she had done that.

Praying that they would be there on time, she thought of the hunters. She knew them, she knew them very well. "These hunters that you speak of... I know of them. But that is not a story for now. When my friend arrives, and when we... depart... from here, then I shall help you with your hunter problem. My leg is nearly healed, and we are nearly there..." They came to the edge of the land, and looked out across the water. There was a lot of water there, and a land in the distance. They would rest for the night here, on the sharp rocks of the beach. Astella sniffed the air, and scented Reth. The unicorn and her lay down as Khaos wrapped his huge body in a circle arond them, falling asleep instantly. Her mark started to burn as she called to Reth with her mind. She called to him to fly down by her, but not in the circle. She had a plan, but was unable to carry it out without her. "I hope that you are a good runner, Gamaya." She whispered to the unicorn.

Startled yet again by Astella's message by mind, Reth obeyed before he understood what he was doing. Damn it, how in the name of the thermals does she do that? The mighty falcon first climbed higher and higher till he knew that to go further would be suicide. He flipped backwards and folding his wings back in as he dove back to the water. His velocity increased as he plummeted towards what he would considering certain doom if his adrenaline wasn't up. He suddenly spread his wings again and pulled out of his steep dive, using his momentum to send himself hurtling towards Astella and the unicorn Gamaya. It was just then that Reth realized he was going too straight and tried to turn as his momentum slowly reduced. Not enough time.... Not enough time..... Reth sighed as he just missed the outside of the circle. Wheeling around, he flew by again, slowly, and as loudly as he dared called out to Astella. "I'm here and I hope you have a really good plan because I have no idea what to do against this monsterous creature!" Muttering, Reth added with a soft sigh. "And I thought I would never go on another adrenaline-pumping adventure. Oh well."

Frilmonty stopped snarling and looked at the wolf almost quizzically. " You're looking for a place to stay ? Why didn't you say so? Come on in!" The Frilled Monitor turned around and crawled back into his den. " Sorry about that. I'm very grumpy and you surprised me. Just a bit. So, where you from and what is your name? Please excuse the mess, I haven't had time to clear up properly after meals, you know?" Frilmony was young and this one of the few times he had someone over at his place other then the female monitors downstream so he was kind of nervous about impressions. This was a chance to possibly show his 'weaker' side.....

Satto totally relaxed and was also surprized at this creature who had been so hostile a moment before. Satto followed behind him in silence till they came to the den. Satto was also young and so he was not btoehred a bit by the mess. It was kind of liek home to him. He padded in after the creature and sat down, careful not to bump his head on the lower ceiling. It was just high enough for him to sit up. He looked around for a moment and then replied to the creature, "My name is Satto and I ahve been wondering for a good long while. I wanted to see what else the world held for me. Oh and just to let you know, I was not howling at the stars for nothing. TO my pack the start represent the rest of the clan when you are traveling away from home. I am not sure if you believe somthing similar but that is one of our beliefs." He then wa s silent and relized that he did not even know the creatures name yet. "So what is your name?"

Gammaya dipped her head silghtly. She was worried about being here at all. But atleast she had someone that she could trust. She then rested her legs while standing. She was not tired but waited for her que on what to do.All of a sudden there was a shap[e that went flying fast by then a small call to Astella. Gammaya looked up and realized that it was the bird that she had met earlier and the same one that was with her in the field. She ahd no diea how this bird knew that they were there or what he was doing, but she had an idea that Astella was the key to this puzzle.

I hope this works... She was happy to see Reth, as she nudged Gamaya awake. She stood and closed her eyes. Her mark began to burn, and she could feel the power rising within her. The moment was near as the power began to overwhelm her, and she opened her eyes. There was a huge flash of light in the area, and suddenly both her and Gamaya were on the outside of the circle. "Come on, you two. Khaos was bound to see that. Reth, I would like you to hop on my back, and hold on tight. We must go now!"

"Since I don't got a better idea, " Reth muttered under his breath, "Let's go!" The large falcon swooped down low and flared in for a swift (if a bit scary) landing on Astella's strong back. He looked back at the big evil creature behind them. "RUN ON!" He cried, sensing something was amiss about the 'slumbering' beast.....

"I be Frilmonty. We Frilled Monitors of the Sea believe that the spirits of the past push us as we swim on the currents. Actually, I think it's a load of carrion on prey. Survival of the fittest is the way the world works and there is no way to guide right from wrong except your morales." The large monitor sat down, scanning the wolf. There was a huge gap of experiences to talk about so he said nothing more...........

She felt Reth's anxiety as she started to run. She hope Gamaya would be close behind as Khaos snorted himself awake. She ran hard, and she ran long. There was no stopping her now that she had started. The wind flew under her feet, her feet pounding to the rhythm of her heart. She raced on, and heard the crash and fall of trees in the background. Khaos roared, shaking the trees above her. He was much bigger than her, and much faster. And although he was so massive, his agility was far more than average. She pushed her head down, and the mark on her side began to glow. She felt the familiar pain as her eyes began to glow. The trees became a blur, and the glow became bigger, until it envelopped her entire body, and covered Reth like a warm blanket. Exiting the forest, her feet pounded on air, the wind offering no resistance. His magic was helping, but Khaos was gaining. He tore through the edge of the forest and lunged forwards. Knowing there was little way to outrun him, she suddenly remembered something from her lessons. She turned quickly, and let her powers let go of Reth. He didn't go far, and there was no crash as he rather hovered down to the ground. Khaos opened his mouth wide, showing his teeth, which only made her run faster. Khaos began glowing as well, a dark green colour. Hers was white, which wasn't perfect, but it would have to do. Time seemed to stop as there two auras merged, and there was a huge wave of energy. Then there was only smoke...
